I wish I had more time to work on getting some things a little better. The vocals for one! as well I am not really happy with the mix, during rendering all the tracks I lost a lot of FX that just wouldn't go. But I am happy enough with it. I hope I didn't butcher it to much.

I enlisted the help of John Williams on thios track, Thanks for a great job on the drums, bass and synth lines!!!!i couldn't have done it with out you. I hope I didn't screw up to much (I know I goofed a high hat track up :o (Eeek!), but it all seems to fit.

There are definitely parts that the my timing is well just stinking off and I know my vocals need much much work.

I am real happy I had the chance to do this I learned a lot about mixing and recording in Reaper, I have always pretty much done one offs live. Or had someone else at the controls!

It was an honer to work with John and as well cover such a great song, hope you don't find it to terrible!

dude first off Wow! i love the way yer singing to this, very pink floyd! awesome, love the guitar parts, mixing production vocals guitar all sounds great,, the organ is a bit off in places, that was added on yer side, after i gave you backing tracks, the only thing is that the vocals dont come in and out where they need 2 be.Spanking
:P (Razz) ugg if there was only a few more days we could fix it. its great for what it is,, but could be so much better if vox came in and out where it needs to be(timing) is the problem. not anything else~ :) (Smile):) (Smile) good work rich,:D (Big Grin)

Thanks Yeah I was listening side by side a bit and I think we got o a coule extra mesures in before the First chorus/break but I think with all my procrastination it came out pretty well

and the Organ is actually the Guitar ;) (Wink) ... Was a lot of the same over and over with the expression pedal... so I missed spots tried to punch in fixes but it became real hard with only 2 hands Laughing My Arse Off

I edited a lot of Guitar out that I had way out of place after I got the vocals that close
I could have waited till tomorrow and tried fixing some more but I wanted a beer :D (Big Grin) Cheers!

Fuck I love this so much. So proud to be covered by you. I think you put more effort into this than I did on my part with the original. I am onto my 3rd listen in a row now. I forgot how the tune went so I had to track down my lyrics. I was thinking about doing my GT Original cover singing like Bob Dylan but didn't get around to that one. I just fucking love the Dylan feeling in the vocal in the verses and also the killer intensity of the shout out bits. Fucking cooooool shit man!!!! Fucking love it!!!!
Cheers

I will be going to the premier of the movie where my(and Matts) version features tonight. I will have to get this on too. Wish I could get on your show for a bit of a shout this arvo but I am not sure how I would from this Mac Computer I'm on now? Oh I forgot to say how I like the pause near the end. Works great!

Thumbs Up Nice job on this. You managed to capture the desparation in the original, partly with that guitar, which works really good in this. The break, Thumbs Up The guitar again. Groovin

Well, I like the instrumental part of this cover even more than the original track (I was never a big fan of distorted synths). What a pity that the mixing fucked up. Please re-release it after some editing. Oh, and while doing it - what about some filter movements in the accompanying synthline? Drums a little more back, guitars and especially the vox more to the front and this will be a great track. Thus far - nice job... ;-) (Wink)

Reminds me a little of INXS when I listen. Great take on the original. Steve and Mojo may have drawn the outlines, but you have definitely coloured them in with your own marker pens! Very well done! Clapping

Danceable Industrial...I was trying to avoid citing the same bands that I did when I commented on the original, so I tried to come up with an acceptable subgenre...that's the best I could come up with.
This is very close to the same vibe as the original, the same very catchy, very make-a-soul-wanna-get-up-'n'-MOVE kinda groove.
And the differences do what...strictly in my opinion, of course...personal touches within a cover song should do: add another dimension to the song. In this version, most of them reside in subtlties-and-nuances territory. Now there's another well-known act I could namedrop: Depeche Mode. The differences between this version and the original remind me of the differences between earlier Depeche Mode and latter Depeche Mode...even though neither version of this song reminds me of them...particularly...aw, I give up...
You two do good. Me like.

Digging the vox in this one... kinda like Roger Waters meets Peter Murphy in parts! Great dynamics in the recording too, though it could use a bit of remixing - but hey, you were on a deadline! Slick playing as always, good to hear you both. :) (Smile)

FX on the vocals is a nice touch! I admit you had me a bit worried as far as the contest went, but you came through with vibrant swirling flying colors!! And a special Face's Blue Star for you; I KNOW how much you already do around here, and to take the time to finish this? Trophy Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
